Royal Challengers Bangalore halted by rain against Rajasthan Royals

AB de Villiers and Sarfaraz Khan star for the Royal Challengers Bangalore before rain halts their Indian Premier League clash with Rajasthan Royals.

Rain has prevented the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Rajasthan Royals from completing their IPL clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The abandonment of the match will come as a source of frustration for the Royal Challengers, who were in a strong position at the halfway stage thanks to a fine batting performance.

Despite losing Chris Gayle (10) and Virat Kohli (1) inside the opening three overs, Bangalore were boosted by 57 off 45 balls from AB de Villiers.

Mandeep Singh (27) and Dinesh Karthik (27) backed up the South African well, but it was 17-year-old Sarfaraz Khan, the youngest player in the tournament's history, who delighted the crowd on the way to finishing unbeaten on 45 from 21 balls.

Bangalore reached 200-7 from their 20 overs, but Rajasthan were unable to begin their reply as the rain arrived in the interval.
