Adelaide Strikers's match at home to Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League has been abandoned due to heavy rain.

The encounter was reduced to 10 overs per side before poor weather conditions put a stop to proceedings. Both teams have been awarded one point apiece.

Adelaide managed to make 119-5 at the crease, but Sydney's run chase lasted just one over when the game was called off.

Alex Ross hit 30 not out for the Strikers, while Craig Simmons (21) and Ryan ten Doeschate (23) also stood out with the bat. Jason Roy reached 14 not out for Sydney, who finished on 18-0.
