Luke Wright commits to Melbourne Stars

Luke Wright signs a new three-year contract with Big Bash League franchise the Melbourne Stars.

England batsman Luke Wright has agreed to continue his Big Bash League career with the Melbourne Stars.

The 29-year-old has spent the last four campaigns with the Stars and under the terms of his new deal, he will spend another three years at the MCG.

"Delighted to have signed for another 3 years at the @StarsBBL. Ive had an 4 amazing years but I'm desperate to get that big bash trophy," he wrote on Twitter.

"To be an overseas for @StarsBBL for 7 years after this contract and hopefully longer is amazing. Thanks 2 all involved 4 the special loyalty."

Wright has scored 856 runs in 33 matches for the Stars - more than any other player in the franchise's history.
