Worcestershire have been promoted to Division One for the fifth time in 12 years after securing a 27-run victory over Surrey.

The hosts dismissed their opponents for 189, despite Surrey sitting in a comfortable position at 106-1 before lunch.

Jack Shantry inspired the team to victory by taking 4-44 in the innings, which pushed him to 10 wickets overall.

Earlier today, Yorkshire won the County Championship title for the first time since 2001 by beating Nottinghamshire.
