Michael Vaughan wants major changes to domestic Twenty20

Vaughan wants major T20 changes

Michael Vaughan believes that domestic Twenty20 cricket needs a major overhaul to create a sense of atmosphere and excitement.

The former England captain does not think that the domestic T20 format compares with the likes of the Indian Premier League, and believes the format needs a complete rethink.

"When you put Twenty20 on [the television], [no atmosphere] comes through so we turn off," he told BBC Sport.

"In this country [we] seem to have this long drawn-out affair, we can't really get to grips with how it works, the spectators will go and watch because they watch cricket anyway rather than it being something new.

"We've got to try to create nine teams, make it a bit different and create the 'wow' factor."

Michael Vaughan's comments follow Eoin Morgan's calls for a similar T20 restructure.
