Fast-bowler Simon Jones has rejoined Glamorgan after four years away from the county.

Jones made his debut for the Dragons aged 19 in 1998, before moving on to Worcestershire and Hampshire.

However, a succession of injuries blighted his spell with both clubs and he spent the second half of last season back on loan with Glamorgan.

He has now turned that switch into a permanent one and hopes that the move will resurrect his international career.

"I'm really happy to return home and play for Glamorgan," Jones said. "It's been a frustrating few seasons for me with injuries but I've put this behind me and I'm thrilled to be moving on with my game.

"Also in the back of my mind, I haven't given up on the dream of playing for England again.

"I'm confident I still have the form that got me selected in the first place and [that I can] prove some critics wrong."

The 32-year-old, who has signed a two-year deal at Sophia Gardens, last played for England in 2005.
