Paul Horton agrees Lancashire exit

Australian batsman Paul Horton is leaving Lancashire following a 12-year association with the Red Rose.

Lancashire have agreed to release opening batsman Paul Horton.

The 32-year-old, who made his debut in 2003, has scored over 9,500 runs for the Red Rose at an average of 38.

"I have had a wonderful time at Lancashire. From my first game as a 15-year-old to all 308 competitive professional games for the club," he told the club's official website.

"After speaking to the club in mid-season, I wanted to have a look at my options and I am now looking forward to a fresh challenge where my experience can hopefully benefit a new club. I wish the club every success in the future."

To date, Horton has scored 21 centuries and 51 fifties.
