Martyn Moxon: 'Yorkshire deserve promotion'

Yorkshire director of cricket Martyn Moxon has insisted that the team deserves their promotion to County Championship Division One.

The club erased memories of last season's relegation when they sealed their return to the top flight on Thursday with Derbyshire.

"We're all delighted, obviously," Moxon told Sky Sports News. "The boys deserve it and it's great to have made it with a day to spare.

"We were disappointed to get relegated last year but the boys have responded well."

Yorkshire can be crowned champions tomorrow if they capitalise on a Derbyshire slip-up against Hampshire.
