Simon Katich to join Lancashire for 2013 season

Lancashire County Cricket Club have announced that Simon Katich will be their overseas player for the 2013 season.

The former Australia Test opener, who previously played for the side in 2010, spent last year at Hampshire.

The 37-year-old told the club's website: "I'm sure Lancashire will be looking to head straight back up to Division One. I'm determined to play a big part in this happening.

"I'm hopeful that, with my experience, I can be a senior member of the squad and help a relatively young group in having a successful season in all forms of the game."

Katich has also spent time at Derbyshire, Durham and Yorkshire.
