Alex Hales joins Worcestershire from Nottinghamshire on three-match loan

England batsman Alex Hales joins Worcestershire on a one-month loan from Nottinghamshire.

England batsman Alex Hales has joined Division Two side Worcestershire on a three-match loan from Nottinghamshire.

The 25-year-old, who became the first Englishman to hit a century in the Twenty20 format last winter, will come in as cover for Moeen Ali.

Ali will join up with the England team for next Friday's one-day international against Scotland in Aberdeen.

Director of cricket Steve Rhodes told the club's official website: "To lose a player of [Ali's] quality is a blow to the team, but to replace him with a loan player who is currently ranked as the number three T20 batsman in the world is a major coup for the club.

"He is keen to show his abilities in the four day format and impress the national selectors."

Hales will be with the Worcestershire team for one month.
