Father Time weather vane returns to Lord's ahead of The Ashes

Father Time returns to Lord's

Father Time has returned to Lord's cricket ground following a three-month absence due to wind damage.

The weather vane, which is of a cloaked figure with a scythe in hand standing over cricket stumps, was installed above the Mound Stand clock this morning.

Lord's have been without Father Time since March as it needed repairs due to copper damage, but it was displayed in an exhibit in the MCC museum during those few months.

In 1926, the weather vane was donated by architect Sir Herbert Baker to Lord's, which will host an Ashes Test on July 16.
