Essex record lowest batting total of 20

Essex have recorded the lowest batting total in their history by getting bowled out for 20 in their second innings against Lancashire.

Six players in the batting order failed to score during the defeat in Chelmsford, with Jake Mickleburgh only managing to muster 10 runs, which was the highest of the second innings.

Lancashire veteran Glen Chapple ended the clash with five wickets for nine runs from 7.2 overs, while Kyle Hogg nabbed four wickets for 11 runs.

Not only is it Essex's lowest score in their history, it is also the lowest that the County Championship has seen in 30 years.
