James Anderson pens new two-year Lancashire contract

Anderson signs new Lancashire deal

England pace bowler James Anderson has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract with Lancashire.

The 30-year-old, who made just one County Championship appearance this year due to his commitments with England, has claimed that he is "delighted" to have extended his stay at the club.

"I always love coming back to play for the club when my England duties permit me to and I'm delighted to sign for another two years," said Anderson.

Director of cricket Mike Watkinson told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We don't see much of him but he's still very much one of our own.

"He's one of those players who just loves playing for Lancashire. He gives a whole-hearted performance when he's around, he trains hard and he's a great example for the players around him."

Anderson, who has 73 Test appearances for England under his belt, made his debut for the newly-relegated side in 2002.
