Lancashire Lightning cool Durham Jets

Lancashire Lightning have leapfrogged Durham Jets into fourth place in the T20 Blast North Group after defeating them by six wickets.

Ashwell Prince was the star of the show at Chester-le-Street, his unbeaten 63 allowing his side to dictate the pace of the contest.

Durham did not look in bad shape on 93-3 after 10 overs, but they were punished by Lancashire spinners Arron Lilley, Stephen Parry and Steven Croft.

They chalked up combined figures of 4-61 in 11 overs, which allowed Kyle Jarvis to take two late wickets and finish with 3-24 in his first Twenty20 match.

Durham captain Mark Stoneman opened up with a 28-ball half-century, but it was downhill for the Jets from there.

With Lancashire needing 43 from their last five overs, James Faulkner hit Ryan Pringle high over mid-wicket for six to take the pressure off.

They put the match to bed when Faulkner did exactly the same to Usman Arshad.
