Durham beat Yorkshire by 28 runs

Durham Jets have beaten Yorkshire Vikings by 28 runs in the T20 Blast encounter at Headingley Carnegie.

Durham won the toss and elected to bat first but started off worryingly as captain Mark Stoneman was dismissed after only three balls, leaving it to Phil Mustard who scored 40 runs off 43 balls.

Azeem Rafiq collected three wickets to make it 73-6, before Gareth Breese scored 30 runs off 19 balls not out.

As the visitors set a target of 123, Yorkshire failed to produce a solid batting performance with only Aaron Finch (17), Alex Lees (19) and Richard Pyrah (16) making it to double figures.

Ryan Sidebottom was the 10th wicket to fall as he was run out by Gordon Muchall as Yorkshire finished 95 all out.

Durham now sit fifth in the Natwest T20 Blast North Group table, one place behind Yorkshire.
