Rain forces early end to Bangladesh, South Africa Test

Rain forces early end to second Test

The second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Dhaka has ended in a draw after the fifth and final day was called off due to rain.

The poor weather has meant that four of the five days in the Test match have been washed out, with just 88.1 overs bowled.

The teams did not finish the first innings before play was halted on day one. Bangladesh were sitting on a score of 246-8, with South Africa yet to bat.

Persistent rain prevented play from taking place on days two, three and four, with the umpires deeming that day five could not go ahead due to the amount of surface water on the pitch.

The first Test of the two-match series also ended in a draw after rain stopped play on day five in Dhaka last week.
