Tamim Iqbal set to return from knee problem for World Cup

Iqbal expected to be fit for World Cup

Bangladesh have revealed that Tamim Iqbal is expected to return to full fitness in time to be ready for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Iqbal has been told that he can return to cricket within the next two to three weeks after he underwent arthroscopic evaluation and surgery on his left knee in Melbourne on Monday, meaning that he could be included in the squad when it is revealed early next month.

"He will be considered 100%," Bangladesh's chief selector Faruque Ahmed told ESPN. "The report has given us optimism as he will have ample time to rehabilitate from the surgery and begin nets in due time."

Bangladesh's squad will meet for a training camp on January 12 before flying to Brisbane on January 24 to finish their preparations for the tournament.
