Team GB quartet face semi-final race

Team GB's women's kayak four quartet finish second in the opening heat of the 500m kayak four event.

Only the winner of each heat is guaranteed a place in the final, and due to their time being considerably slower to that of the second and third place teams in the second heat, Jess Walker, Angela Hannah, Rachel Cawthorn and Lousia Sawers must compete in a semi-final race to try and qualify for the final.

The GB quartet were in second place behind Hungary at the halfway mark, and that remained the same as Hungary eased to the win.
