British kayak sprinter qualifies for semi-final

British kayak sprinter Jonathan Boyton has qualified for the K1 1000m semi-final in a time of 3:29.757.

Boyton finished third in his heat, three seconds behind Denmark's Rene Poulten.

He was the third fastest qualifier in the 31-man field and will race again in the third semi-final later today,

The 27-year-old finished 22nd in last year's World Championships.
