Great Britain's Peter McGuire reaches BC4 boccia quarter-finals

Great Britain's Peter McGuire is one step closer to a Paralympic boccia medal after defeating Marco Dispaltro 4-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the mixed individual BC4 category.

The British hopeful had a positive start at the ExCel Arena by leading his Canadian opponent 3-0 after two ends, with Dispaltro struggling to get his accuracy in check.

Despite a strong start, McGuire relinquished his lead after losing the third set 3-0, which set up a tense final end with the overall scores level at 3-3.

While Dispaltro tried to take the lead, McGuire managed to hold out to take the final few balls and snatch a place in the quarter-finals.
