David Joerger: 'We are relieved to reach playoffs'

Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Joerger has admitted that his side were relieved to finally book their spot in the playoffs on Monday night.

A 97-91 victory over the Phoenix Suns ensured that the Grizzlies will finish in the top eight of the Western Conference following a run of four wins in a row.

"This is a culmination of not just this week or not just March or April, this is a culmination of everything we've been through since December," Joerger told reporters.

"For these guys, it's a happy locker room, a relieved locker room and just a bunch of very proud guys with great chemistry."

Memphis can replace the Dallas Mavericks in seventh position by beating them on Wednesday night.
