Patrick Beverley ruled out for up to six weeks

The Houston Rockets could be without Patrick Beverley for up to six weeks following confirmation that the point guard suffered a broken hand.

Patrick Beverley has been ruled out of action for between four and six weeks after he broke his hand in Saturday's loss to the Detroit Pistons.

The Houston Rockets have been struggling with injuries in their squad, with both James Harden and Jeremy Lin spending time on the sidelines recently.

Beverley, who has started 23 games for the Rockets this season, is set for more scans over the next couple of days to learn the full extent of the problem.

Isaiah Canaan has been called up by Houston from the franchise's D-League affiliate, Rio Grande.
