China claim gold and silver in badminton mixed doubles

Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei defeated their countrymen Xu Chen and Ma Jin to claim gold in the badminton mixed doubles tournament.

Zhang and Zhao dominated the final from the outset, winning the first set 21-11.

Xu and Ma responded in the second, keeping the score close but failing to halt the charge of their dominant opponents, going down 21-17 to lose in straight sets.

China enjoy a rich history in the sport and continued that tradition at Wembley Arena by claiming both gold and silver in the mixed doubles tournament.
