The Public Health Authority open an investigation as three Australian badminton players miss two days of practice at their pre-Olympics training camp in Derbyshire due to food poisoning.

Three members of Australia's Olympic badminton squad have been forced to miss two days of practice after falling ill with food poisoning at their pre-Games training camp in Derbyshire.

Renuga Veeran, 26, Ross Smith, 27, and Glenn Warfe, 28 were all first affected by the bug on Tuesday.

"We hope they'll be back in training [on Friday]," said Australian Olympic Committee official Michael Tancred. "The Public Health Authority is investigating the cause of the food poisoning."

Teammates Leanne Choo and Victoria Na were not affected.
