Steve Cram: 'Usain Bolt is the greatest'

Steve Cram declares Usain Bolt as the best sprinter of all time after he picked up a 10th World Championships gold medal with victory in the 200m final.

Steve Cram has declared Usain Bolt as the "greatest" sprinter of all time following his performance at the World Athletics Championships.

The six-time Olympic champion went into the competition following a turbulent year, but maintained his sprinting dominance to beat Justin Gatlin to gold in both the 100m and 200m finals.

The latter saw him take his haul of World Championship titles to 10, and Cram believes that the Jamaican's ability to perform on the biggest stage helps to mark him out as the best ever.

"Two golds for Bolt. He's too good for Gatlin. Bolt won it in the first 20m. Out well and there was no way Gatlin was going to close that down," Cram told BBC Sport.

"Resurrecting a performance like that from a season he has had shows Usain Bolt is the greatest."

Bolt won his fourth consecutive 200m crown in a world-leading time of 19.55s and could add another title to his collection in the 4x100m relay later this week.
