London have been successful in their bid to host the World Athletics Championships in 2017.
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) have announced that London will host the Championships in five years' time, after deliberating in Monaco today.
The capital has beaten Qatar city Doha after the 26-member council watched the final presentations from both bids this afternoon.
Doha had promised that they would spend £150m on the event as well as guaranteeing that every ticket would be sold for every event during the competition.
However, the committee deemed London the worthy hosts after they pledged that they could ensure full stadia for each session along with an better commercial return.
