Mixed fortunes for British duo in 1500m semis

Great Britain's Charlie Grice qualifies for the men's 1500m final but Chris O'Hare misses out in the second semi-final.

Great Britain's Charlie Grice has earned a place in the men's 1500m final at the Olympic Games.

The 22-year-old only made the semi-finals after it was adjudged that he had been hindered down the home straight in his heat, but he produced a confident run on Thursday night to make the final.

Grice was one of over half-a-dozen athletes competing for five automatic places at the line but he managed to claim fifth position by sixth hundredths of a second.

However, there was disappointment for Chris O'Hare after he faded badly down the home stretch in the second semi-final to finish in last place.
