Laura Weightman into 1,500m final

Team GB's Laura Weightman qualified for the final of the women's 1,500m at the London Olympics this evening.

The 21-year-old could only manage to finish seventh in her semi-final race inside the Olympic Stadium.

However, her time of 4:02.99 was quick enough to see her advance through to the final as one of the fastest losers.

Abeba Aregawi won the race, while Gamze Bulut, Tatyana Tomashova, Maryam Yusuf Jamal and Hellen Onsando Obiri also qualified.
