Abiodun Oyepitan reaches 200m semi-final

Team GB's Abiodun Oyepitan has qualified for the semi-final of the women's 200m after finishing second in her heat this evening.

Oyepitan ran a time of 22.92s to finish ahead of Jamaica's Sherona Simpson, who clocked a time of 22.97s.

Team USA's Carmelita Jeter, one of the favourites for the final, cruised to a comfortable victory in the heat, finishing in 22.65s.

The women's 200m semi-final will take place tomorrow evening.
