The Brit, who was disqualified at the recent Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, could only finish fifth in his heat and just missed out on a fastest-loser qualification place.

Osagie's teammate Michael Rimmer also missed out on qualifying.

The fastest time of the heats was set by Ireland's Mark English, who crossed the line in 1:47.38. The semi-finals are tomorrow, before the final on Friday.
