British trio safely through to 800m semi-finals in Zurich

The British trio of Lynsey Sharp, Alison Leonard and Jess Judd have all made it through to the semi-finals of the 800m at the European Championships in Zurich.

Coming off the back of her silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, Sharp had little trouble winning her heat on Monday.

The 24-year-old was in control from the start, slowing down during the final 50m before sealing her victory.

Leonard also came first in her race, while Judd secured a third-place finish on the track.
