Kenenisa Bekele pips Mo Farah to Great North Run title

Kenenisa Bekele has beaten Mo Farah in a thrilling sprint finish to win the elite men's race at the Great North Run.

The multiple Olympic champion from Ethiopia crossed the line ahead of the Brit following a close final 400 metres.

Bekele posted a time of 60:08, while Farah finished one second behind the winner.

Meanwhile, 40-year-old long-distance legend Haile Gebrselassie ended the race in third place.
