Kenyans win elite London Marathon races

Eliud Kipchoge set a course record on his way to retaining the men's title at the London Marathon earlier today.

The 31-year-old clocked a time of 2:03:05, which is the second fastest ever to have been posted in a marathon.

Meanwhile, the women's race was won by Kipchoge's fellow Kenyan Jemima Sumgong.

She recovered from a fall at a water station to cross the line in 2:22:58.

In the men's wheelchair race, Great Britain's David Weir was forced to settle for third place, with Switzerland's Marcel Hug coming out on top.

As for the women's section, America's Tatyana McFadden clinched top spot for the fourth year running.
