Louise Martin to challenge Prince Imran for Commonwealth Games presidency

Scotland's Louise Martin reveals that she intends to stand for the presidency of the Commonwealth Games Federation.

Scotland's Louise Martin has revealed her intention to run for the presidency of the Commonwealth Games Federation in September.

Prince Imran, who became president in November 2011, revealed during a board meeting in London last week that he wants to run for a second term.

"Having thought long and hard about it, and having been honorary secretary for four Games, I've always had the ambition to become President at some stage and I think now is the time for me to stand," Martin told insidethegames.biz.

Martin was the vice-chair of the organising committee for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games last year.
