Ennis withdraws from Edinburgh event

Great Britain's Olympic gold medal winner Jessica Ennis has been forced to pull out of the Women's Athletic League meeting in Edinburgh on Saturday because of injury.

The heptahlete, who claimed the top prize at the Games in London last year, has picked up an Achilles problem.

However, the complaint is not thought to be overly serious and she has targeted the Diamond League meeting in Oslo the weekend after to start her season.

The 27-year-old is also expected to compete at the World Championships in Moscow later this year.
