Jessica Ennis claims an 86-point lead in the World Indoor Athletics Championship pentathlon after finishing the 60m hurdles in 7.91 seconds.

Great Britain's Jessica Ennis has kicked off the defence of her world title with an impressive start in the 60m hurdles.

The 26-year-old clinched a championship best with 7.91 seconds in the hurdles after leaping out of the blocks in Istanbul.

Tatyana Chernova, who is regarded as Ennis's biggest rival in the Pentathlon, came in second on 8.29 seconds, while Natallia Dobrynska finished in third place on 8.38.

Ennis now heads into the high jump event with an 86-point lead as she tries to retain her world title at the Indoor Championships.
