Dibaba smashes 5,000m record

Genzebe Dibaba has broken the 5,000m indoor world record at the XL Galan meeting in Stockholm.

The 24-year-old recorded a time of 14:18.86 to beat fellow Ethiopian Meseret Defar's previous record by over five seconds.

She had finished the race almost two laps ahead of her nearest competitor Birtukan Fente.

Dibaba now holds four world indoor records, having set three of those in the space of 15 days last season.
