British athletes confirm Birmingham Grand Prix participation

Mo Farah is among a large British team that will compete at the Diamond League meeting in Birmingham.

Mo Farah will compete over 1,500m at next month's Diamond League meeting in Birmingham.

The double Olympic champion will lead a field of British athletes at the Alexander Stadium that also includes long-jumper Greg Rutherford and 400m runner Christine Ohuruogu.

Looking ahead to the World Championships in Beijing, Rutherford believes that the Grand Prix in Birmingham will provide him with the perfect preparation to win the only title that has so far eluded him.

"I'm determined to win the only major title that I'm missing from my cabinet," he told British Athletics official website.

"Everything is geared to that aim and if I can beat my main rivals in Birmingham in June it will set me up perfectly for the rest of the year."

Sprinters Adam Gemili, Chijindu Ujah, Richard Kilty and Dina Asher-Smith will also feature at the meeting.
