BBC announces Olympics radio station

The BBC Trust has announced that the corporation will launch a temporary Olympics radio station for London 2012.

The station, which will be called Five Live Olympics Extra, will focus on the sports that are not being covered on Five Live.

A budget of £200,000 has been earmarked for the project, which will be available on Monday, July 23 - four days before the Games start.

It has also been revealed that BBC Three will screen some Olympics action during the day.
