Smyth sets world record in T13 100m heat

Ireland's Jason Smyth has broken the T13 100m world record by 0.03s in the first heat.

The defending champion eased off in the closing metres and still managed to set the fastest time ever of 10.54s.

Smyth qualifies with Luis Felipe Gutierrez of Cuba, who posted 10.94s, and Russia's Artim Loginov who ran 11.16s.
