Vikas Gowda wins men's discus final

Vikas Gowda of India throws 63.64m in the men's discus final to claim gold.

India's Vikas Gowda threw 63.64m in the men's discus final to claim the gold medal this evening, as he exorcised the demons of four years ago when he claimed silver in Delhi.

The silver medal in Glasgow went to Apostolos Parellis of Cyprus, as the 29-year-old threw 63.32m.

Jason Morgan of Jamaica took the bronze medal, which saw enthusiastic celebrations break out in his camp.

Wales's Brett Morse (60.48m) finished in fifth, while there was disappointment for England's Carl Myerscough. The 34-year-old, won won the bronze medal in 2010, came seventh.
