Two Indian Olympic officials will appear in court after being arrested in Glasgow yesterday.
The alleged incidents are unrelated and took place in two separate parts of the city.
New Delhi Television Limited report that Mehta was arrested on charges of alleged drunken driving and Malik for alleged sexual assault. Neither of the men were working in an official capacity at the Commonwealth Games.
The Indian High Commission in London said in a statement: "We have learnt about the detention of two members of the Commonwealth Games contingent by the local [Glasgow] police.
"Our consulate in Edinburgh has deputed an official to Glasgow to keep in close touch with the police authorities to ascertain full factual details of the case. We are also close in touch with the team."
