The 31-year-old threw 67.69m with the final throw of the competition to secure the gold.

China's Huihui Lyu threw 66.13m to take silver, with South Africa's Sunette Viljoen claiming bronze with 65.79m.

The gold is Molitor's first of her career in a major competition.
