Jazmin Sawyers: 'There was no pressure'

Sawyers: 'There was no pressure'

Team England athlete Jazmin Sawyers has revealed her delight after claiming a silver medal in the women's long jump at the Commonwealth Games.

Sawyers finished second with a score of 6.54, which was a season best for the 20-year-old.

"There has not been any pressure on me. No-one had me in for a medal, it was very much 'go and enjoy it'. That is when I jump best," she told Sports Mole.

"Every time I found myself in the zone, I told myself to calm down."

"The way that I came from third to second gave me a lot of confidence. That will be really important for the future. To step it up I need to perform in championships."

Nigeria's Ese Brume claimed gold.
