Shara Proctor "just happy to qualify" for long jump final

England long jumper Shara Proctor admits that she is "just happy to qualify" for the long jump final at the Commonwealth Games.

Shara Proctor has insisted that she is "just happy to qualify" for the final of the long jump at the Commonwealth Games.

The Team England athlete jumped the second-longest distance of 6.51m in her qualifying group and the fourth-longest overall.

The 25-year-old, who previously competed for Anguilla, told reporters: "I'm just happy to qualify. I should have [done it] on my first jump but I just wanted to continue jumping to get a rhythm, because I haven't jumped in a while, so I needed to make sure I had everything in line and make sure I have a good rhythm in the warm-up for tomorrow."

The final takes place at Hampden Park tomorrow evening.
