Jessica Judd cruises into women's 800m final

England's Jess Judd books her place in the women's 800m Commonwealths final with a strong semi-final run.

Nineteen-year-old England athlete Jess Judd has won the second 800m semi-final to book her place in the Commonwealth Games final.

Nigeria's Eunice Sum finished first ahead of second-placed Melissa Bishop of Canada in the first semi-final.

Scotland's Lynsey Sharp made a late dash for the line, but she left it too late to overtake England's Jenny Meadows, who finished fourth.

As the rain continued to fall inside Hampden Park, Judd led from the front in the second semi-final and coasted to victory.

However, there was heartbreak for Emily Dudgeon, who faded on the final straight and despite finishing fourth, she didn't clock a quick enough time to qualify for the final.
