Usain Bolt: 'England are the main rivals'

Usain Bolt tells Sports Mole that the English relay team are his main obstacle to winning Commonwealth gold.

Usain Bolt has told Sports Mole that the English relay team are his main obstacle to achieving a first gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

The world record holder of the 100m was the fourth runner in the Jamaica team competing in tonight's qualifying round for the men's 4x100m relay, helping his country to first place in their heat with an impressive time of 38.99s. England's quartet, meanwhile, won their heat with a slightly faster 38.78s.

Asked if he considered England his biggest threat in tomorrow night's final, Bolt told Sports Mole: "For me, as long as they're in the finals they're the main rivals so we'll see what happens. It's a relay so anything can happen."

On the importance of adding a Commonwealth gold to his extensive collection, Bolt added: "For me I need a gold, so it's very important for me!"

The final of the men's 4x100m relay closes out the Commonwealth athletics tomorrow night at 9.15pm.
