Seven Cameroonian athletes have reportedly disappeared from the Olympic Village.
David Ojong, the head of the Cameroon delegation, has revealed that five boxers, a swimmer and a female football player have been missing since the weekend.
"What began as rumour has finally turned out to be true," Ojong wrote in a letter to the Cameroonian sports ministry.
"Seven Cameroonian athletes who participated at the 2012 London Olympic Games have disappeared from the Olympic Village."
Drusille Ngako, a reserve goalkeeper for the women's football team, is believed to be the first to have disappeared.
She is said to have vanished when the team travelled to Coventry for their warm-up match against New Zealand on July 31.
The athletes have visas that permit them to stay in the UK until November.
