Kenny Allen sets Paralympic record in men's individual standing

Allen tops archery standing round

Great Britain's Paralympic archer Kenny Allen has topped the round rankings in the men's individual standing.

The Brit launched a total score of 651 points to reach the final 16, who go head to head on Saturday, while compatriot Phil Bottomley clinched the third-best score of 630 points.

The third British competitor, Murray Elliot, failed to qualify for the next round after claiming a disappointing score of 542, which placed him at the bottom of the table.

Elliot tweeted: "Shot poorly today. Some great stuff but too many poor shots. The old body isn't forgiving some days. Disappointing but that is para sport. Looking forward to the head to heads however!"

Russia's Timur Tuchinov recorded the second-best score of 638 in the round rankings.
