Jameis Winston: 'Age will not be limiting factor in 2015 campaign'

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is adamant that his age will not have an impact on his play in the 2015 season after being named as the club's starter.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has insisted that his age will not be a limiting factor in the 2015 season.

Winston was selected by the Buccaneers with the first overall pick in the 2015 Draft, and the 21-year-old has impressed his coaches enough to be named as the starter for the upcoming campaign.

He told reporters: "One thing that I've learned is if you can play it don't matter what age you are, it doesn't matter. I believe we have a great team in place. I'm looking forward to the season. I can't wait.

"On this team, I'm just accepting my role. We have a lot of veterans – Vincent [Jackson], Gerald [McCoy] - those guys are our leaders. My job right now is to play quarterback."

The Buccaneers open the season against the Tennessee Titans on September 13.
